Use the web preview to test a draft agent through your browser microphone or text chat. A simulated call lets you check the conversation without assigning a phone number.

Start a simulated call

1

Open a draft

Open Agents, select an agent, and make the draft you want to test active in the builder.
2

Set test variables

In the preview, enter values for any dynamic variables the agent expects. Use test data only.
3

Start talking

Select Start talking and allow microphone access when your browser asks. For a text-only test, select Start chatting instead.
4

Exercise the call

Test the expected path, missing information, interruptions, silence, and requests that should invoke an action.

What to verify

  • The greeting matches the call direction and opening mode.
  • The agent asks one clear question at a time.
  • Knowledge answers stay grounded in the connected sources.
  • Actions receive the required values and handle failures safely.
  • Transfers and call endings happen only under the intended conditions.
  • The agent responds correctly when a caller interrupts or pauses.
Change the prompt, flow, knowledge, or settings when a test fails. Start a new simulated call after each meaningful change.
Test with several speakers and audio environments. A successful happy-path call does not cover interruptions, background noise, or ambiguous answers.

Before you publish

Confirm that the draft passes your expected path and important failure paths. Then publish the version and assign it to a deployment path.
